Combining water, forest and history, Parc national du Lac-Témiscouata protects a representative sample of the natural region of the Notre-Dame Mountains.
Covering an area of 175 km2 (70 sq. mi.), Parc national du Lac-Témiscouata stretches along one of the most beautiful and largest lakes south of the St. Lawrence. The park protects nearly half of the lake’s shoreline as well as Notre-Dame Island, the lake’s only island. Created by powerful glaciers, Lake Témiscouata provides a tranquil setting for contemplation, while lake trout and whitefish glide under the surface of the water.
