The Réserve faunique de Port-Daniel, which covers an area of 57 km2 (22 sq. mi.) is home to many animals such as moose, white-tailed deer, otters, fishers, martens, Canadian lynx and several other species. With a little luck you might happen upon one during a hike. You can also pick small fruits and nuts, including cherries, raspberries and hazelnuts, depending on the season. Top off your visit with a hike on the Port-Daniel River trail, which offers a breathtaking panoramic view.
The wildlife reserve has 25 lakes, some 10 of which have been set aside for day-fishing enthusiasts and the remainder for anglers who stay in the accommodations offered by the wildlife reserve. Thus, all are invited to come and tease brook trout in these 25 lakes as well as salmon in the Port-Daniel River.
The wildlife reserve also features excellent moose, white-tailed deer, small game and bear hunting. Inquire about details and specific dates.
