Do you know how electricity is produced? Visit the Jean-Lesage (Manic-2) and Manic-5 hydroelectric power plants to find out! During fascinating industrial tours, visitors of all ages will be awed by these two giants: Manic-2, one of the world’s largest hollow-joint gravity dams, and Daniel-Johnson, the world’s largest multiple-arch-and-buttress dam.
Your tour guides will explain how these two dams were built, their main features and how they work. Explore the world of electric power, discover the rich industrial heritage of this region and admire the sheer size of these dams!
If you plan well, you can tour both sites, which are less than 2.5 hours apart, on the same day. To do so, make sure you book the 9 a.m. tour of Manic-2 and the 3:30 p.m. tour of Manic-5.
