Located at the foot of the Uapishka (Groulx) Mountains on the edge of the Manicouagan impact crater, the Uapishka Station offers a unique experience in northern Québec. This authentic and peaceful world, where nature reigns, is home to many memorable sites. Memorable because they abound in beauty and offer moments of pure freedom, but also because they have inspired fascinating stories that spark the imagination, tales of fabulous feats, scientific discoveries, mythical heroes, planetary cataclysm and, of course, natural splendours. Whether you are a seasoned adventurer or simply eager for new experiences, the Uapishka world will leave a deep impression on you.
Hiking
The Uapishka (Groulx) Mountains are home to about 30 peaks over 1000 metres (3300 feet) high, including the sixth highest mountain in Québec as well as the third largest alpine area in the province. It is one of the rare mountain ranges of this scale in Québec that has remained in the wilderness!
