The Société des traversiers du Québec inaugurated new facilities in both Rivière-du-Loup and Saint-Siméon in 2012. In Rivière-du-Loup, the new building containing the waiting area also has a new pedestrian walkway, which is 30 metres (100 feet) long and windowed on both sides. This means passengers can board the ferry directly and thus avoid being affected by inclement weather.
In Saint-Siméon, a modern hydraulic system has been installed on the vehicle ramp to facilitate the adjustment of ramp height depending on the tide.
